Dogs have always played a huge part in my life, and I have had a variety of breeds from puppies, as well as adopting adult dogs.
Three years ago, I decided to follow my dream and work with my biggest love; dogs. I knew that 20 years’ experience of dogs wasn’t enough, so looked for the right course to give me the best way to communicate with dogs that were in my care. This took me to Jan Fennell International Dog Listeners where I completed the Foundation and Advanced courses in Canine Communication. I was successful in my aim to be invited back for the Graduate course. From that moment, I never looked at dogs in the same way again!
My life time aim is to help educate people, young and old, whether dog owners or not, to promote better communication with dogs whilst respecting their needs. I believe using these methods will also result in safer interactions between humans and animals, and this is particularly important for my four children and our pets.
I have a particular interest in passing my knowledge onto the next generation, and my previous experience as a teacher is leading me to develop work with schools and youth organisations in order to deliver sessions with children and young people, so that they have a better understanding of canine communication.
